P&R Communications 1st CNReach Deployment

Last week started our first of our two CNReach projects. Once the SCADA engineering company updates the PLC's at each site the CNReach will be DRail mounted and the project will be final. If you would like to learn more about this product or ask questions regarding any part of the install please do not hesitate to contact me.

Shawn,

It would be good to hear a little bit about the network operator in terms of vertical market and the use case for the cnReach network itself.

Scott

Scott,

The deployment is for a City in SW Ohio. We are using the cnReach 900 MHz MAS radios to provide SCADA connectivity between their main facility and PLCs at remote sites. Two aggregation sites, using Access Points with omni directional antennas, connect to 11 End Points with Yagi antennas. Aggregation sites are interconnected via a dual radio at the secondary site. All cnReach devices will initially be connected via serial RS-232 to existing PLCs. Once upgraded by another vendor, all PLCs will then be connected to one of the Ethernet ports. The radio supporting  both port configurations was very appealing to this customer. All network interfaces are bridged to the default VLAN interface.

Shawn

You're Welcome Scott.

Shawn,

The system has been deployed for approximatley 60-days now, curious how performance has been over the bake-in as well as customer expereince.

Scott,

Thank you for the interest. They have not needed to use the cnReach radio immediately because the  PLC migration portion has been ongoing We will be bringing up the system starting next week slowly. First in ISM due to FAA approval being delayed. I will certainly keep you posted! Thank you Scott!

Scott,

After nearly 2 years of use they have only lost 1 radio to failure and are very satisfied with the solution.

Best Regards,
