LINKPlanner v4.6.3 Now Available

A new release of the LINKPlanner is available from https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/linkplanner

The key features of V4.6.3 are:

New or changed features

  • cnReach
    • Added the following bands/regulations in PTP mode
      • UHF 406-430 MHz United States
      • UHF 450-470 MHz United States
      • 700 MHz United States
      • 900 MHz Australia
    • Added new antennas, power supplies and warranties to existing 900 MHz

For more information on how these are used in LINKPlanner please see our Community Post  http://community.cambiumnetworks.com/t5/LINKPlanner/New-cnReach-bands-in-LINKPlanner-version-4-6-3/td-p/77901

  • Updated sensitivity values based on Rel 01-10 for 900 MHz

A few modes will see a degradation in performance, however the majority will have similar or slightly improved performance.

  • ePMP
    • Added Force 190 as PTP and as an SM in PMP
  • PMP 450 family
    • Added PMP 450b Mid-gain as an SM option
  • cnPilot
    • Added E410, E501S, E502S, E600 to BOM Estimator
  • PTP 670
    • Update Brazil to “In Service”
    • Updated Cambium unlicensed antennas to Global availability
    • Removed “Preliminary” from HCMP

Note that HCMP does not show the Type Approval status of individual countries, please look at a PTP link for that country and band to see the status.

  • Added new country/band options, primarily to PTP 670 HCMP
  • PTP 700
    • Modified PTP 700 to show two product variants:
      • PTP 700 C+I which incorporates the Integrated and the suffix A PTP 700 connectorized performance. All existing projects will open with the “old” PTP 700 as PTP 700 C+I
      • PTP 700 C-Only shows the new suffix B connectorized PTP 700 performance
    • All PTP 700 products are now only available in the Global SKU

When provided in kit form this has two options with either an EU or US power cord.

  • Improved Integrated Antenna performance

The new integrated antenna reduces the roll-off at the lower and higher bands, with a much flatter response across the whole frequency range from 4400 to 5900 MHz.

  • General
    • Added ability to save and recall table view configurations

In the Select Columns control panel there are now two additional icons to allow users to Save and Open configurations. Set the list of columns as required and select Save, which will allow you to save the file to a folder of your choice. The file will have a “.view” extension. This file can then be opened in any project and shared between users. To open a stored file, select the Open icon and navigate to the folder then select the file required. Note that only files with a “.view” extension will be shown.

  • Added Magnetic North Bearing to table views

The original bearing column has been renamed to Bearing, True N (deg) with options for both Left and Right.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed problem on PMP 450m not fully utilizing EIRP above 38 dBm

PMP 450m APs configured to an EIRP above 38 dBm were not actually using the EIRP value configured. This has now been corrected so that EIRP values up to 42 dBm are correctly represented.

  • Removed Spatial Diversity option from ePMP PTP and PTP 450 family links, as they do not support spatial diversity
  • Fixed error when changing from 900 MHz cnReach to PTP 810
  • Fixed error when exporting PTP 450/450i configuration files
  • Prevented PTP 820i resetting to default 1 ft flex waveguide on project opening

Note that all project files previously saved with longer waveguides have the correct settings stored in the file and in this version will open normally with the lengths previously configured.

  • Removed extra PTP 820i Fixed Tuned connectors from 11 GHz BOM

When an antenna with a UBR 100 interface was selected, which are any of the “Global”, “APAC & EMEA” or “NA & CALA” antennas, an extra pair of fixed tuned connectors was incorrectly added to the BOM

  • Removed PTP 820G and PTP 820S Remote Mount Adaptor for 1+1 HSB and 2+0 Co-Polar

The Remote Mount Adaptors are not required for 1+1 HSB or 2+0 Co-Polar configurations for PTP 820G and PTP 820S, they are only required for 1+0 and 2+0 Cross-Polar or 2+0 XPIC. These items have now been removed from the BOM and this also reduces the Mediation Device Loss by 0.1 dB at each end of the link, which may make a small improvement to the availability and throughput on a link compared with the previous version.
