LINKPlanner v4.7.3 Now Available

A new release of the LINKPlanner is available from https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/linkplanner

The key features of 4.7.3 are:

New or changed features

  • Warranties
    • Added new warranty part numbers and applied default warranties

All products now include a default Extended Warranty in the BOM, the length depends on the product selected. This replaces any previous default warranty in the BOM. Old projects which had other warranties added as optional extras will still show these warranties, but they are marked with “Not available for order. Please choose latest option” and they are shown as obsolete in the optional extras. Many have equivalent new warranties.

  • cnPilot
    • Added e430W to BOM Estimator
  • Best Server
    • Now available on the Mac platform
  • PMP 450m
    • Obsolete PMP 450 AP at 5.4 and 5.8 GHz
    • PTP 450 no longer available for sale in Canada in 5 GHz
    • Added 30 and 40 MHz Bandwidth to Mexico at 5.1 GHz
  • PMP 450i
    • Modified frequency ranges for 5.1, 5.2 and 5.4 GHz in US and Canada
  • PTP 550
    • Added SFP modules to optional extras
  • ePMP
    • Updated country kit selection to be driven from regulation incorporating more country kit options.

If a product has a line cord kit option then it will be included in the BOM if the matching regulation is selected without having to set the line cord option under Tools-Options-Bill of Materials. Countries that don’t have their own line cord kit option and are using an ROW SKU can choose a line cord from the list of available countries under Tools-Options-Bill of Materials. All country line cord options are now available within LINKPlanner.

  • PTP 670/700 HCMP
    • Removed 10 MHz bandwidth
    • Added 5.1 to 5.8 GHz bands for PTP 700 HCMP

Note that US/Canada for the extra bands on PTP 700 HCMP will be added in the next release

  • PTP 820
    • Added Bench Test Kits to optional extras
  • General
    • Added a “Cancel” button to the project file opening progress window
    • Reduced saved file size by removing redundant information from project file

Bug Fixes

  • Removed extra bracket from Force 190 in BOM Estimator
  • Fixed throughput calculation for 5 and 10 MHz for ePMP products

This increases the throughput rates at 5 and 10 MHz bandwidths. At 5 MHz it improves both DL and UL across all modulation modes. At 10 MHz it provides a better balance between uplink and downlink, especially at 50:50.

  • Prevented links recalculating when re-opening a project in the same version
  • Corrected issues with Calc Tilt function to ensure it uses correct propagation model and channel frequency

This fixes issues where the Calc Tilt was showing different results to when the same tilt value was set on the product.

  • Corrected BOM aggregation of CMM5 parts in PMP
  • Corrected refresh issue for the cnReach default cables
  • cnReach PTP, prevent Vertically Polarized omni antenna from appearing as an option when link set to Horizontal
  • ePMP 1000, ePMP 2000 and PTP 550 5 GHz in United States and Canada, prevent higher gain antennas from being offered as not covered by regulatory approval
  • Updated Best Server to correctly identify closest APs and modified options when updating or over-writing existing SMs.

This may change the predicted best server, especially on networks where many APs cover the same subscriber site location.

  • Corrected 2.4 GHz MARS MA-WA25-20 antenna to single polarization and added a 19 dBi dual polarization alternative (MA-WA25-DP19)
  • Re-instated default ancillary parts in the BOM when remote product is different to local product
