Any thoughts on how one can simulate a signal fade on a PTP link in the field?
Something other than placing an object in the line of sight.
In radio's software, lowering the TX power on either or both radios. Physically, misaligning one or both of the radios. Entering in the path and equipment into LinkPlanner and then using the tools provided to add attenuation or interference. What are you trying to accomplish?

The PTP radios are connected to layer 3 routers, just recently when we experience a fade event the link drops and the vpn tunnel also drop however when the link is restored the tunnel does not. I want to simulate this outage rather than waiting for a rainstorm.
