PTP820s 1+1 Split Configiration

Hi

I am about to configure up a couple of PTP820S's in a 1+1 Split Configuration (using and optical fibre spliiter)

My question is, can I use the same IP address for both devices on one end, or do they need to be different?

Hi Steve, 

It is good to have individual IP address to each unit. Once you enable Protection Administration, the system will determine which unit becomes the Active unit, then a single IP address is used for both PTP 820C units (Active and Standby), to ensure that management is not lost in the event of switchover.
