Direct mount is the most simple way for PTP820 installation. But sometimes when we may not be able to due to different reasons like:
1. Re-use an existing antenna which doesn't have PTP820 interface
2. PTP820 direct mount antenna only covers from 1ft to 6ft. If a 8 or 10 foot antena is needed, these anntena has no PTP820 direct mount interface
The good news is PTP820 also support remote mount configuration, for both PTP820S, PTP820C and PTP820G RFU. The latest linkplaner tool provide this options and customer can choose for remote mount, which will provide a complete BOM for such configuration.
And often, people like to know how flange match each otehr in such configuration, i create a table bellow which can help address this type of questions.

For 6-13 GHz, we do need a remote mount adpator for any remote mount configuration. For 15GHz and above, radio has standard flange and customer can connect the radio with antenna with the right flexible waveguide.
