PTP500 used in Congo to link Mining area to HQ (500Km tough terrain)

Mining Projects Development (MPD) Congo SA, whose activities revolve around geology (prospecting, drilling), logistics and engineering, is working in the Republic of Congo in the mining industry.

.

There was a requirement for communications coverage at the company's head- quarters as well as at the mining exploration area and, naturally, along the road used by its supply vehicles between the two sites.

SOICEX ELECTRONIQUE, a company with 30 years' experience providing radio communications in Africa, has provided MPD CONGO S.A. with a high-performance operating system matched to its customer's requirements.

This system comprised some Motorola Mototrbo stations and 10 PTP500 links to cover an area of 40000 Kilometes square and some 500 Kms of road.

The longest link was 100Km and is providing a minimum of 30Mbps aggreagte during the rain season (forest and humidity) and more during the non-rain season. Attached a couple of photos of before and after 2 years of continuous operation.
