PTP 650 not powering up and the radio inaccessible

Isolating Power supply:

AC Power Injector not working: Part Number - N000065L001

  • Remove the ODU cable from the PSU and observe the effect on the power LED.
  • If the power LED does not illuminate, confirm that the mains supply is working, for example check the plug and fuse (if fitted). If the power supply is working, report a suspected PSU fault to Cambium Networks.
  • If the Power LED does illuminate, perform “Test resistance in the drop cable” as per user guide and confirm the cable is not faulty.

AC+DC Enhanced power injector LED not working: Part Number - C000065L002

  • Remove the ODU cable from the PSU and observe the effect on the power LED.
  • If the Power LED does not illuminate, confirm that the mains power supply is working, for example, check the plug and fuse (if fitted). If the power supply is working, report a suspected PSU fault to Cambium Networks.
  • If the Power LED does illuminate, perform “Test resistance in the drop cable” as per user guide and confirm the cable is not faulty.

PTP 650 ODU is not Powering UP/not Accessible:

  • Possible  causes are fault in the ODU Ethernet port or bad PSU cable, maximum recommended cable lengths exceeded or bad LPU.
  • Make sure we use only the Cambium power supply.
  • Make sure no vlan is not enabled on the radio and we are accessing the radio using right ip address.
  • Follow the above procedure to isolate any issue with the power supply.
  • Verify that the connector crimps on the Ethernet cable are not loose on both radio and the PoE injector.
  • Verify that the Ethernet cable is not damaged between power supply, the PC and the Radio.
  • Check if you have any LPU installed between ODU and power supply. If yes, remove the LPU and check if the radio powers up or the wiring along with LPU by following “Test Resistance in the drop cable” procedure described in the User guide.
  • If no LPU installed, change the cable or Check the ODU cable wiring by following the “Test Resistance in the drop cable” procedure described in the User guide.
  • Confirm that the ODU and PSU cables are not too long, check the Ethernet standards and cable lengths are within the limit as suggested in the user guide.
