nice. Which release you are running?

What are you connecting? a business or residential access backbone?

It was the latest 4.1.1 FW which will be released soon in the test environment.

Thank you.

What dishes are those?

Jirous 29dbi antennas  - http://en.jirous.com/antenna-5ghz-parabolic/jrc-29_mimo

Are the Jirous antenna's any good?

We've been looking to standardise on a new antenna brand. We want something cost-effective, but we don't want to go the route so many go of just putting cheap UBNT antenna's on everything.

Jirious has different antenna sets with different quality and price tags.

We normally recommend use our own Cambium dish antennas which we have tested and have guaranteed performance and antenna pattern of which are accessible from LINKPlanner.

We cannot gurantee link performance with other antenna type because if the antenna are lower grade, the PTP 550 cannot perform at the peak performance. Same for other products of ours. We haven't tested other antenna manufacturers so far but we are glad to hear what Partners are reporting on the forum. This is what this thread is about, to hear experiences from the channel using different antenna types, different distances, RF envirnoments etc.

Results from internal Speed test on PTP550 (TDD 50/50)

Test 1 - 4 seconds

  • 634.73 Mbps downlink
  • 348.24 Mbps uplink
  • Aggregated 982.97 Mbps UDP

Comment:
Test was running only 4 seconds. We will repeat it in channel-bonding configuration. Link needs more time to pick up higher throughput.

Test 2 - 20 seconds single radio test

  • 360 Mbps downlink
  • 374.33 Mbps uplink
  • Aggregated 734.33 Mbps UDP

Comment:

Testing one one radio performance, Radio1 in this case. Full capacity of the link is double of that performance.

Test 3 - 20 seconds single radio test

  • 359.24 Mbps downlink
  • 375.04 Mbps uplink
  • Aggregated 734.28 Mbps UDP

Comment:

Testing one one radio performance, Radio2 in this case. Full capacity of the link is double of that performance.

Test 4 - 20 seconds single radio test (repeated)

  • 296.08 Mbps downlink
  • 368.28 Mbps uplink
  • Aggregated 664.36 Mbps UDP

Comment:

Testing one one radio performance, Radio2 in this case. Full capacity of the link is double of that performance.
