Consider this example to illustrate DCS application, you have 2 channels Channel A: 20 MHz 5200-5220 and Channel B 20 MHz 5750-5770 , when DCS kicks due to various reasons (DFS detected, either of current channel has interference), let's say Channel B has been hit with high interference. These are the steps of occurrance when DCS kicks in Channel B
All Data packets from Channel B are re-routed to Channel A,
Channel B searchs for the next best channel across entire spectrum from 5.1 to 5.8
Once the Channel B has been established on new channel (example Channel B 5270-5280)
Data packets are again shared between Channel A and Channel B
So till link B is established the link throughtput might drop but since Channel A is always being used, the PTP link is always established. We have a few webinar explaining this in more detail on our community page, please check them out and let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks
Sagar
P.S: DCS is not yet available in current firmware, this will be available in future release software for free
