What is unique about PTP550 vs. other dual channel radios on the market?

  • 1.4 Gbps Throughput
  • Asymmetric Non-Contiguous Channel Aggregation (ANCCA)
    • better link availability for both DFS and Non-DFS
    • provide a flexible solution for both aggressive and Resilient Network
  • Asymmetric modulation between two channel. The two channel is total independent, indepedent channel size, independent modulation in DL and UL
  • Link Resilience with Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) *
    • Only 1 channel frequency change during DCS, hence link is always established
  • Small form factor and Metal enclosure : Durable
  • SFP port :
    • Commercial and Residential complex have fiber built in, easier to deploy
  • ARQ supported

* - avilable in future release

¿Aproximadamente para cuando esta disponible el Dinamic Channel Selection (DSC)?

Saludos!

"Link Resilience with Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) *

  • Only 1 channel frequency change during DCS, hence link is always established"

Does this mean that the link stays up when DCS gets triggered and changes frequency? How exactly does this work?

Hi Nekomata,

Consider this example to illustrate DCS application, you have 2 channels Channel A: 20 MHz 5200-5220 and Channel B 20 MHz 5750-5770 , when DCS kicks due to various reasons (DFS detected, either of current channel has interference), let's say Channel B has been hit with high interference. These are the steps of occurrance when DCS kicks in Channel B

  • All Data packets from Channel B are re-routed to Channel A,
  • Channel B searchs for the next best channel across entire spectrum from 5.1 to 5.8
  • Once the Channel B has been established on new channel (example Channel B 5270-5280)
  • Data packets are again shared between Channel A and Channel B

So till link B is established the link throughtput might drop but since Channel A is always being used, the PTP link is always established. We have a few webinar explaining this in more detail on our community page, please check them out and let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks

Sagar

P.S: DCS is not yet available in current firmware, this will be available in future release software for free
