Why PTP670 is 4 db less sensitive than PTP650

Read some posts and understand they are exactly same hardware, the 670 has more memories and processing power. but when compare the receive sensitivities at each modulateion level, seems ptp 670 is 4 db Less than ptp 650

example:

5.8GHz 10MHz band

PTP670 QPSK0.63s -87.6 dbm QPSK0.87s -83.6dBm 16QAM0.63s -81.7 dBm

PTP650 QPSK0.63s -91.7 dbm QPSK0.87s -87.7dBm 16QAM0.63s -85.4 dBm

any thoughts? any feedback from cambium??

Thank you

May I ask where you are seeing these sensitivities on the 670? I'm checking a spec sheet now and the figures are matching the PTP650 figures.

Is it possible you're looking at an outdated preliminary spec sheet?

Hi,

We provide two frequency variants of PTP 670:

  • 4.8 GHz to 5.9 GHz
  • 4.9 GHz to 6.05 GHz

The sensitivity of the 4.9 GHz to 6.05 GHz variant is the same as PTP 650.

The PTP 670 User Guide covers both variants, and the figures quoted in the original post are for the lower frequency variant. In most applications, the higher frequency variant is the one to use.
