Cambium Networks Update on Ubiquiti Networks Elevate Claim

To the Cambium customer and partner community:

As many of you have heard, Cambium Networks, together with one of our distributors and one of our end user customers, have been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed by Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  In summary, this lawsuit asserts that Cambium Networks’ development of our Elevate software involved actions which violate various United States state and federal laws and asserts that the Elevate software infringes Ubiquiti’s copyright and trademark rights, among other claims.

While Cambium Networks will not comment publicly about pending litigation, Cambium Networks believes the lawsuit is without merit and intends to take all actions available to us in response.  We intend to vigorously defend ourselves, including our name and reputation, our employees and those others who have been named with us.

We developed our ePMP Elevate software solution with the intention of harnessing our industry-leading wireless capabilities, including specifically our interference mitigation and spectral efficiency software capabilities, which we believe are second to none.  We believe the technical benefits of Elevate that made it such a compelling solution when launched continue to this day.  We remain highly confident in the capabilities of our Elevate product, and we continue to support it technically.  Further, Cambium Networks confirms that Elevate remains for sale through our global network of ConnectedPartners, and Cambium Networks will continue to support our partners as they promote Elevate.  We believe that the way to win in the marketplace is to offer superior products and technology, rather than resorting to legal maneuvering.

We, at Cambium Networks, are proud that over the past four years, the ePMP product line has delivered strong value to fixed wireless network operators around the world.  We are very appreciative of the partnerships that have resulted with our distributors, ConnectedPartners, and end customers.  We will continue to bring high quality innovation to the ePMP line and are particularly excited about the upcoming release of the third generation of ePMP technology, the ePMP 3000, harnessing 802.11ac Wave 2 technology to further extend the capabilities of the ePMP product line.
