‘’Wmserver dead but subsys locked’’ on the linux machine

This occurs if the server detects any issue in running the Wireless Manager application, the wmserver application will be locked.

You will also notice that the Services of WM Server will be stopped in the ‘’WM Administrator Tool’’.

Resolution:

  1. Go to the folder /usr/var/lock/subsys/ and delete the file ‘’wmserver’’.
  2. Start the ‘’WM Server’’ services in the ‘’WM Administrator Tool’’.
  3. If the services (Apache and WM Service) are still not running, then please make sure a proper license is uploaded into the Server and License Server is running fine.
  4. You can cross check the License services by clicking on ‘’License Status’’ under ‘’Licensing’’ tab.
