You culd add the automatic backup of a device as soon is on boarded in the sistem, and also have the option to schedule autobackup or backup automaticly if you has done a chance in the equipment ( never is too much backup!!!!)
Indeed it would be nice to also keep a history of at least X amount of backups for each device in case one wants to look at an old configuration.
