Checking Device/cnMaestro Connectivity (Part 3 of 4)

HOW TO CHECK CONNECTIVITY ON THE DEVICE

 

This article is part 3 of a series of topics about cnMaestro on-boarding and troubleshooting.  Please see Device On-boarding for a listing of all parts in this series.

 

cnPilot R200/R201

  • Make sure the DNS settings are properly set in the device GUI(Network > WAN Settings)
  • Go to Administration-> Diagnosis and perform ping to cloud.cambiumnetworks.com in order to make sure the DNS and internet connectivity is established
  • Sometimes a ping may be blocked by AWS for the cloud servers.  If so, try to ping to google.com or any other public web site . If this works then the DNS and Internet connectivity are established

 

cnPilot E400/ePMP 1000 HotSpot

  • Make sure the DNS settings are properly set in the Device GUI (Configure > Network > VLAN) Settings for VLAN 1 or any other VLAN which is being assigned to the ethernet interface
  • Go to Troubleshoot >Connectivity and perform ping to cloud.cambiumnetworks.com in order to make sure the DNS and Connectivity works fine.
  • Sometimes a ping may be blocked by AWS for the cloud servers.  If so, try to ping to google.com or any other public web site . If this works then the DNS and Internet connectivity are established

ePMP 1000 AP/SM

  • Make sure the DNS settings are properly set in the device GUI (Configuration > Network > General Settings)
  • Go to Tools > Ping and perform ping to cloud.cambiumnetworks.com In order to make sure the DNS and Connectivity works fine.
  • Sometimes a ping may be blocked by AWS for the cloud servers.  If so, try to ping to google.com or any other public web site . If this works then the DNS and Internet connectivity are established

PMP 450/450i AP/SM :-

  • Make sure the DNS settings are properly set in the device GUI (Configuration > IP Settings)
  • Go to Tools > DNS Test and perform ping to  cloud.cambiumnetworks.com In order to make sure the DNS and Connectivity works fine.
  • Sometimes a ping may be blocked by AWS for the cloud servers.  If so, try to ping to google.com or any other public web site . If this works then the DNS and Internet connectivity are established
