Form Mesh links between Cambium and Ruckus APs

Procedure to form Mesh link between Cambium and Ruckus APs

Configuration of Cambium AP to form Mesh link between Ruckus and E400/500 AP is different when compared to Mesh link between E400/500 and E400/E500.

Following procedure helps user to configure both Ruckus and Cambium devices to form Mesh link and extend their network with Cambium APs.

Ruckus AP as Mesh Base

  1. Login to Ruckus AP using default IP [192.168.0.1] with following credentials:
    1. Username: super
    2. Password: sp-admin
  2. Navigate to Configuration à Radio 5G à WirelessX
    1. Enable encryption method as WPA
    2. Select WPA version as WPA2, WPA Authentication as PSK and WPA algorithm as AES.
    3. Click on Update settings

E400/500 as Mesh Client

  1. Login to E400/500 AP using default IP [192.168.0.1] with following credentials:
    1. Username: admin
    2. Password: admin
  2. Navigate to Configure à WLAN à Create Wireless LAN
    1. Enable Mesh Client
    2. Configure WLAN profile as below:
      1. Mesh Mode: Client
      2. SSID: Same as configured in Ruckus AP
      3. Security: Same as configured in Ruckus AP
      4. Band: Same as configured in Ruckus AP
      5. VLAN: 1 [Default Value] 
    3. Click on Save

SSH to device with default IP & Credentials and disable VLAN Tagging on WLAN profile
