Lost internet connection after configured DNS-ACL

Hi everyone !

When I configured DNS-ACL ( cnPilot E400 ) , i just deny https://news.zing.vn/ but immediately after press the save button i lost internet connection . I can't access google.com or any website other .

I don't know why , please help me !!!

Hi , 

Please add a permit rule after your deny rule as default rule . Find the attachment for an example.In the example i blocked Facebook and allowed all other sites by wild card charecter *

It is possible that in backend the dns query is going with some
Othre string so it is not hitting the dns acl rule. Please try
Adding .zing. and see.

It's still the same !!! 

I tried with deny facebook.com and permit * the result is facebook.com still accessible

  • Please re-check the precendense values of DNS rules applied.
  • For ex, if you are willing to deny facebook and allow  all other traffic, following shold be the syntax
    •  dns-acl deny 1 *facebook*
    • dns-acl permit 256 *.*

I configured on E400, but user cannot connect access internet, AP e400 using firmware 3.4.3.5r2

  1. dns-acl deny 1 *facebook*
  2. dns-acl permit 256 *.*

Please help me.

Hi,

Please configure DNS-ACL as below:

  1. dns-acl deny *facebook.com 1
  2. dns-acl permit * 256

*[wildcard character] is honoured if it is in the beginning, other than that it is not honoured.
