Fried antenna, safe home stories

When was a time you had a fried antenna, but a safe home? Share a story and pictures (if you have them) of how a surge suppressor worked for you and kept you covered.

Anyone who shares before September 22nd will receive a Cambium hat! Just send a link to your post to solutions@cambiumnetworks.com

Does water in the eth run count? This was a repeater site in a outdoor cabinet. Repeater site went down, this was found inside with some melted cat5e cables.

On a side note, the surge strip was still on, it didnt drop out until the 30a breaker kicked.

Skullzaflare,

Wow. Yes, that counts. Did your radio work once you replaced the cabling and power supply?

Kindly,

Julia

All 4 Access Points and Backhaul Radio were not damaged after this lightning hit.

If i recall correctly (it was last year, but we still have the POE in the office) it survived, but ended up needing a new cable run due to water. It had so much water from the cable, there was a puddle on the cabiniet base where that POE was, as well as i dumped some water out of the POE
