ePMP 2000 Smart Antenna beamforming is conducted in the uplink only, as radio optimizations are carried out by changing phases at the 8 patch-array antenna connected to the Access Point.
The beam forming supports significantly better interference tolerance from co-channel sources. With the improved performance in the uplink, downlink performance is also seen with improved delivery of TCP acknowledgements. Beamforming in the downlink is not supported at this time.
