[ePMP2000] How do I know when to use the Smart Antenna?

The Smart Antenna is most effective when your ePMP 2000 equipment is deployed amongst on-channel or neighboring interferers (i.e. site spectrum analysis shows strong signal levels from external sources on or near your operating center channel).  The System learns the locations of each served Subscriber Module and forms a narrow beam towards the desired Subscriber Module while that radio is transmitting in the uplink. This reduces the gain on the uplink for on-channel and neighboring channel interferers that are transmitting at an azimuth angle different than the Subscriber Module.  This gain reduction is especially important when there are high-power, on-channel interferers present in the radio environment.
