3.2 mile link with PtP 550

Hi all, setting up a 3mile link with perfect line of sight and I’m having issues. I have PtP 550s at each end connected to 3ft 34dbi dish. I set both dish antenna gains to 23db but not sure where I should set the radio transmit power to… my region max is 25dbm in the 5150-5250 spectrum. I’m doing single channel 40mhz

Hi,

You can change Tx Power on GUI by going to Configuration -> Radio -> Radio configuration -> Transmitter Power

Thanks for the reply, I probably phrased that wrong, im not having trouble finding “where” that setting is, I’m wondering due to the short link if my Tx power should be maxed out or not? Also can any one confirm the max radio output power for Canada for the PtP 550s. I am maxed at 25db on mine.

Hi,

PTP 550 has ATPC(Automatic Transmit Power control) option, which means if you set Slave Radio at specific Receiver sensitity the Master Power will adjust Power match that.

PTP 550 can go down to about -9 dBm, so there is lot of wiggle room with 25 dB antenna and short distance
