5.7 ghz sm issues

well Im starting to experience problems with some of my sm’s the system is one tower with moto 5700ap’s all spaced 20 mhz apart, using the same color code for the 6 ap’s the second tower has 3 LMG Cyclone 5.7 ap’s.

I have 7 customers on the cyclone tower that are having problems with dropping connection consistently, the link is lost randomly, every 5 to 20 minutes and the duration can be everything from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.
these customers I have set the freq scanlist to only 1 freq so it stays on the AP I want it to stay on.

The one that confuses me even more is the SM at my house. It “locksup” randomly, It wont release an address, cant ping it, cannot ftp into it, cannot telnet into it, cannot access the http interface, and needless to say I cannot access the outside network. There is two sets of cabling to the SM, have tried two different routers (linksys and a Cisco PIX 501). Power cycle it and everything comes back to life, or wait 20 to 30 minutes and it decides to work again. You go to the event log, and it dosent even register that anything happened, unless I hard jack the power.

heres some info:

Also in the event log it never gives the current date and time, Any ideas?

heres a frequency scan:

hold on the sm just locked up AGAIN 12:44pm Friday 12-31-04
the funny thing is that this sm has worked fine for the last 4 months.
oh ok itsnow 12:58 and its back up. back to the scan:

ok it just locked up again just as I did the freq scan.

hard jack power, ok im back 29 users on this AP

Thanks for any suggestions

ok the one atmy housewas a bad SM that decided to freak out, fixed,

but I still am having problems with customers, the SM stays registered, but has packet loss every 5 to 10 minutes the loss occurs for about 45 second or so and then goes back to normal.

heres kinda of an idea.

2 -DS3’s come into main office
6 motorola AP’s 5.7 GHz , all SM’s off these 6 have no problems
1 BH 5.2GHz to BH 1 customer no problem
1 BH 5.2GHz to BH to CMM to 3 LMG Cyclone 120deg 5.7GHz AP’s (7 of 45 customers reporting problem)
1 BH 5.2GHz to BH to LMG Cyclone 360deg 5.7GHz AP (1 of 5 customers reporting problem)

I would ask, “Do you have everything sync’ed together?” Sync both towers to each other an you should see those problems disappear. And do you have a Genn 2 CMM or a Micro, A gen 2 will push Date/Time to all the units but if you hard boot it it will show in the event log a deafault time till the date/time gets pushed to it. A micro CMMM you have to manually enter the date/time.

That's not true, you have the NTP server in the CMMmicro or you can use external NTP server to supply date/time to AP.
