900 uplink speed

We have played around with the 900’s ALOT. The best we can get is about 430k up. Has anyone been able to do better?

We have tried 50%, double rate, etc.

I see anywhere from 400k to 800k. What are their sustained and burst speeds set at? This particular customer was set at 800k and 1500k.

Is this with 2x rate active for the uplink?

That link test I posted was with 2x enabled, yes.

Here’s another customer, this one is not 2x enabled.

How/or are you rate limiting them? What do you have their sustained/burst rates set at?

What am I missing - I have NEVER seen 1mb speed test between the SM and AP. I’d love to see 800-1000k up.

I'm using BAM for rate limiting. That peticular customer is set to 512k sustained upload and download, and 1024k burstable upload and download.

It is my understanding that the Link Test does not take into account any kind of bandwidth limiting. It is a raw test of the RF throughput from AP to SM.

Jerry: There are a couple of setting you could check.

Looking at your frame info, it seems that you are not dividing your slots evenly between up and download:
Data Slots Down 16+
Data Slots Up 6+
Control Slots 0

I'm running:
Data Slots Up 11+
Data Slots Down 11+
Control slots 1

What's your max range set to? Setting a high(er) max range reduces the number of frame slots available to use.

What's your Downlink Data % set to?

Also, look in "RF CB Stat" under Expanded Stats of the AP. Are you getting any indiscards or outdiscards? If so, you should add a control slot.

Hopefully something in there will shed some light...

Changed ratio to 50% and added 1 control slot - that did it. Seeing 800-900k both ways.

Right now we are on a single T1, but we have negotiated for a 5M pipe so it will be interesting to see what we can squeeze out of a 900. We have some 2.4’s and 5.7’s and i am sure that those will scream. Too bad I have this clump of trees in the way…

That will be cool once you get your 5 mbps pipe to the backbone. We’re in the process of negociating a frac DS3 straight to the local backbone. I can’t wait.
