AP turns to SM and cannot be restored

Dear all,

I just ran into a very weird situation.
Got myself an 5.7Ghz AP from ebay and I checked that everything is working fine.
I was able to register an SM to it, etc.

It came with software version 7.0.7 and I attempted to upgrade it to 7.3.6
The upgrade process worked fine, however, when it came back on, it became an SM instead of an AP.
I captured the CNUT log during the upgrade process and it says there that it the beginning
CNUT detected the device to be an AP, but after the upgrade, it spawns a WARNING saying that it is detecting
an SM instead of AP.

Can anyone help? I am out of AP and this is my last one before I can get a new one which could be few days away.
This is an active AP which is used in the field to serve several customers.
Please let me know if anyone can help me regarding this situation.

I have a dozens of Canopy in the field and never run to this kind of problem.

Thanks,
Junaidi
