We use Canopy for traditional ISP service, very familiar in that application. Trying to help an enterprise who is buying some canopy gear to interconnect a number of their buildings LAN’s. The buiidings are scattered in/around some hills and a canyon. There is a high spot that would be a natural point for the AP but there are no network facilties at that point. Can we just put an AP there to tie the network together, without having anything connected to the ethernet port on it?

Yes, just connect the CAT5 from the AP to one of the Motorola transformers and leave the pigtal hang. Set the AP to generate its own sync and everything should work OK.
