BAM and SNMP and more...

I’m interested in understanding the specific message exchanges that take place in authenticating a subscriber module. Can someone share with me what information is passed between the SM, Access Point and the BAM.
Furthermore, I’d like to understand if the authentication information received by the AP is cached for subsequent authentication and if so for what period of time and is this information avaiable via an SNMP query?

Thanks,
Susie

It is not cached. The SM is given instructions not to attempt rereg for a period of time. If you reboot the SM immediately on a failure it will attempt registration immediatley. You will again see the AP send and auth request to BAM and BAM respond. No caching.

Refer to the most curretn MIB as to what is available via SNMP. There are many MIB browsers out there that allow searching and browsing of the MIB tree.
