bandwidth tests

I was told when I was bench testing, that you may not get max thoughput with just one SM registered with an AP. It was indicated the system needs 2 or 3 to get going?? This was when I had my AP installed and just me as the SM doing file uploads and downloads to test speeds.

On both units do a factory reset to default and then reconfiure both radios. I have seen issues where the radio config gets buggered up and stomping it flat and reconfiguring takes care of it.

AP:
Set the max throughput to the max allowable. Leave it this way
Web Page auto Update 3 sec (allows tou to monitor status)
Enable Encryption
Bridge Entry need to be longer than the ARP timout in your router. We use 500 minutes
Since you are in the same room set the power to low
Turn on 2x rate

SM
Set the max throughput to the max allowable. (set it once you know the SM is working correctly)
Web Page auto Update 3 sec (allows tou to monitor status)
Bridge Entry need to be longer than the ARP timout in your router. We use 500 minutes
Since you are in the same room set the power to low
Turn on 2x rate

Give the AP and SM unique IP addresses.

Thanks Jerry, I seemed to get better results with your settings.

One question though, if you’re not dealing with CIR do you yourself leave the High Priority Channel disabled? And do you leave 2X rate disabed too?

We don’t even use the Hi Priority channel. So far no complaints.

We leave 2x on unless the connection is marginal, then I turn it off at the SM

Cool 8)

Thanks!
