Cambium go into administration? I’m sorry to all the staff that work hard there. I"m also worried about my network of course. How many radios do I buy? What happens to the cloud I rely on?

Yes, to all the staff who have lost their jobs from this, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

@riddle I am feeling the same way!

Sad times bud. I have complained about firmware over the years, but also praised the E3k for being awesome. I will not be using UBNT to replace CN ever - not going to happen. There is no better 5Ghz AP in my eyes to the E3k (4x4 that is). I just bought a bunch of them and now need to decide how many f300-25 to buy. It’s very tricky working out how many to get.

I hear rumours of someone stepping in to buy Cambium, and I really hope they do. The staff deserve security and so do we.

Yes same here! we love our e3k and the e4k have been working well. Yes I just bought some to put on the shelf as well and need to purchase some f300-25. Oh i hope someone will step in.. so many questions and no answers. I have some 4600c ptp and need to know what will become of communication with afc.

i just pulled down cnmeastro run locally. 2.4.2 will run without link to cloud ai tells me. I think someone will buy it, but depends on the reason for getting here. I dont want to speculate on the cause as its not polite - they will be going through it at the moment.

All Cambium radios currently deployed that use 6GHz/AFC services will continue uninterrupted as they communicate directly with the AFC @ Qualcomm. If you’re deploying a new radio and it doesn’t have it’s AFC cert installed, then you may be out of luck if onboarding into cnMaestro cloud and updating the firmware doesn’t resolve the missing cert issue.

From what I understand, cnMaestro/CBRS/SAS services will continue uninterrupted during the transition.

Certainly seems that way… although reading the post below (the only info I could see online) most of the info seems to come from an employee who was made redundant vs actual facts. But it does look like they filed for voluntary administration. I’m in Australia so it’s Monday morning here. Hopefully we get some clarity once the weekend is over in the UK/US… 🤔

I know lots of the team at Cambium and echo your sorry for all the staff there! 😢

Hopefully the Enterprise Wi-Fi / Switching is a viable business unit that can be sold or funded out of administration. I’ve been running a POC for 3 months and was days away form ordering 140 X7-35/55 WAPs. Could have been worse, but my bigger problem right now is I don’t actually have another viable alternative that hits my needs! 😩

These are uncertain times for all of us — employees, customers, partners, and the entire Cambium community. None of us knows exactly what the future will look like.

What I can say is that the people working on the products today are doing everything we can to keep things running smoothly, support our customers, and make sure the products you rely on continue to deliver - whatever comes next.

There are also two simple things you can do that can make a real difference:

1. Speak up about the products you use and value.
If there are Cambium products you rely on, like, and want to continue using, let people know. Customer voices matter, especially now.

2. Support the people you’ve enjoyed working with.
If there are Cambium employees who have helped you, supported your network, solved difficult problems, or simply been great to work with, please consider leaving them a LinkedIn recommendation. It takes only a few minutes, but it can mean a lot to someone facing uncertainty.

Behind every product are people who have invested years of their careers into building, supporting, and improving it.

Thank you to everyone in the WISP and Cambium community who continues to support the products and, more importantly, the people behind them. 🙏

yes bud, may as well grab everything. I’m sure they will get through it but good to grab all the bits anyway right. I’ve often wondered about running it locally or on a cloud vm. It would be cool to have months of rssi stats so I can see if a tree branch is growing in the way of a cpe radio over time.

Thank you for your reply, I couldnt find a 2.4.2 file in the archives. I will have to watch some tutorials on setting up on premise.

can you provide any insight into what areas are still being staffed?

Tech support?

Bug/Problem resolution?

Warranty/Advanced replacement?

Manufacturing?

Warehouse - product delivery to distributors.

Thanks for your efforts.

Yeah just a reminder, companies go into receivership/administration all the time. A company can have a good and profitable product but have too much debt. Cambium sells a product and makes money. It’s very likely that everything the company does to bring in money day-to-day will continue uninterrupted, since that’s part of the fiduciary responsibility that administration is supposed to ensure. We’ve recently started switching some of our Ubiquiti stuff with Cambium, and we’re going to continue to do so.

For me, it’s the “Enterprise” range (WAPs, cnMatrix, NSE - with cnMaestro) that is most important.

I’ve used Cambium (and before that Xirrus) gear for 6 years in past roles, and have been stress testing the X7 range for the past 3 months in my current environment (and was about to order 140 of them this week to cover our school campus)!

I do hope someone picks up the “Enterprise” business ASAP. While most of us in Education use something else for switching / routing, Cambium (with I’m sure some ex-Xirrus tech in them) WAPs are top tier and incredible value for performance. I hate the whole 'you need to pay us tens of thousands per year just to manage the WAPs you bought they become bricks if you don’t renew" from the likes of Meraki and Aruba.

 ![CleanShot 2026-09-15 at 10.59.25](https://d1okf4ta8xniw3.cloudfront.net/original/3X/7/e/7e5a2420af8ca2b8f175f0570523ca7cc324d767.png)

Live from my monitoring this morning … look at that beautiful density and roaming as class starts around 10:25 and users move from common areas into rooms! 😍

…

And yet… without any certainty of hardware warranty, the assurance of security patches and continuity of management (e.g. cnMaestro free tier) we just can’t commit. And that’s incredibly disappointing for me, as anything else comparable will likely come at 150% the cost.

So please, find someone to buy the Enterprise business!! 🤞

Problem with cnMaestro on premise is that it requires to connect to the anchor account to onboard so although you maintain access to existing devices no changes. I use it since loss of cloud means suddenly zero visibility of network as well and many things are tied to cnM for config.

So even with on premise to know if any device that goes down one needs their cambium account active correct?
