Hello @Ashleigh_Fourie,
Sorry to hear you cannot access the v5000.
As you are aware the static default out of the box is:
· 169.254.1.1 (management interface)
· Subnet: 255.255.255.0
The most common reasons you cannot reach a Cambium cnWave V5000 at its default IP are:
· Subnet mismatch: Your laptop must be manually set to an IP address in the same subnet as the V5000’s default
· Access protocol: You need to use https:// instead of http:// when accessing the main web interface.
· Changed IP: If the V5000 has been in service before, its IP may have been reconfigured and is no longer at factory default.
· Factory reset needed: If the device has unknown settings, a reset might be required to restore the default IP.
What I find really useful is using the LINK Local Address, assuming IPv6 is enabled on your laptop and network interface using this can avoid most issue with configuration on your network.
-
Find the V5000’s MAC address (printed on the label). Example: 00:04:56:12:34:56.
-
Convert that into the link-local format (EUI-64). For the above MAC:
fe80::204:56ff:fe12:3456
- Then, in a browser, access it like this:
https://[fe80::204:56ff:fe12:3456]
If this fails you can Factory reset the unit:
Please let us know if any of this helps, otherwise please raise a ticket, if you can see the LEDs please give support a video of the LEDs as you apply power.
