Canopy ARP issues

The Canopy units seem to have an ARP issue. I have a couple of the unit connected to cisco switches and the switch stops responding when the unit is restarted.

In order to recover IP connectivity a ping has to be done from the SM to the switch.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

You need to set the timeout in the cisco to be longer than the SM. Or shorten the timeout in the SM.

I was actually told to do the reverse by Canopy Tech-support.

I’ve seen it. Has to do with the SM no issuing an ARP request. It would get an entry once the ARP timeout period passed.

I dont understand your last sentence. please clarify.
