Certificate Upgrade Starting February 1, 2025

The cnMaestro certificate upgrade, originally planned for May 6, 2024, has been rescheduled to February 1, 2025, providing additional time for customers to implement the required changes. The upgrade process will begin on February 1, 2025, and it is expected to last approximately two weeks. For detailed information, including the list of affected device versions, please refer to Field Service Bulletin (FSB) 9083.

Action Required

We have identified accounts with devices that may lose cloud connectivity after the certificate update (generally devices running software more than two years old). Over the past 10 months, we have sent emails to the Super Administrators of these accounts notifying them of this issue.

If you have received one of these emails, or if you manage devices running unsupported software versions, it is critical to update these devices before February 1, 2025. Devices that are not updated will lose cloud connectivity after the upgrade.

Important Notice for ePMP 1000 Hotspot Users

As part of the certificate upgrade, support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 will be discontinued in the cloud. This change will impact ePMP 1000 Hotspot devices, which will no longer be able to connect to cnMaestro Cloud.

To continue managing these devices, you will need to transition them to cnMaestro On-Premises. For detailed instructions on enabling TLS 1.0/TLS 1.1 in cnMaestro On-Premises, please refer to the cnMaestro On-Premises User Guide at Appendix > Maintenance > Command Line Alternatives > Enabling TLS 1.0/TLS 1.1.

Does this affect other ePMP 1000 non hotspot devices, we have a few in the field still as Access points and subscribers.

Hi @Robert_Saunders – this only impacts ePMP 1000 Hotspot WLAN APs, which went End-of-Support on 11/15/2022. Their software was not updated to TLS 1.2.
