Cnpilot e400 AP power

Hi All,

We have a cnpilot e400 AP in our office, I need to increase it's power but It is allowed max 15dbm. what is the reason? because of it is FCC version. If yes, how we change it to ROW to increase power

Regards

Grbay

I have forwarded this to our support and development teams.

Gurbay,

where are you seeing the 15dBm transmit power?  is this on cnMaestro, or are you using the AP in AutoPilot mode?  it actually doesn't matter what managment interface you use, the maximum power is a function of the radio.

cnMaestro will show what the radio reports in the Details screen.  from any AP, select Details.  Look to the right side, you will see "Radio Details" where the current transmit power is reported.  Remember though, that the AP reports an average value every 5 minutes to cnMaestro so this value will not change rapidly.

in your configuration, did you disable Auto-RF on the radio?  if Auto-RF is enabled, it will reduce the transmit power (or increase) based on network conditions and by monitoring the client connections.  the goal of Auto-RF is to find the right balance of Transmit power and Channel that will provide the best client SNR without saturating other APs in the same environment.

Hi Gurbay,

Most of the channels in US & Canada support maximum transmit power 25 dBm. Few 5 GHz channels in Canada supports maximum transmit power 19 dBm & EIRP 24 dBm. Please verify the configuration of Country code under Configuration>System page. Please confirm, where is the E400 deployed?

If it does not resolves the issue, download tech support file of the AP (Operations>> System page from AP UI) and send it to kiran.raval@cambiumnetowrks.com.

hi,

max power is regulated from country code settings. if it is allowed and still we see lower power. it may be worth to make an observation by keeping ap in lower channels like 36 to 64.
