CnPilot e410 mesh - Just one more question

Hi! With the community help I, finally, constructed (not sure about the term) the mesh network in my apartment. Now, all rooms are covered.

I have a download speed of 120 Mbs near the Base unit and download speed close to Client unit is between 40 and 60 Mbs.

 I still have some questions:

1) I had to give a different SSID for the mesh radios. Is it ok?

2) I've read that the units, Base and Client, should be aligned. Is that mandatory? My units are not aligned.

3) Is it normal a reduction of the speed or it's becaues they're not aligned?

Please find reply to queries below:

  • I had to give a different SSID for the mesh radios. Is it ok?
    • Its ok and recomended to have Mesh SSID and Access Profile SSID [Where wireless stations connect] different.
  • I've read that the units, Base and Client, should be aligned. Is that mandatory? My units are not aligned.
    • e410 has omni-directional antenna and hence alignment is not necessary. .
  • Is it normal a reduction of the speed or it's becaues they're not aligned?
    • If you seggregate Mesh link to 5G and access profile to 2.4G, you would see better performance.

I put access profile in 2.4 and 5Hz. Would be better only in 2.4G?

  • It is recommended to have mesh link in 5GHz and wireless client connection in 2.4GHz.
  • If above criteria is not fesible, you can enable both 5G and 2.4G for wireless station but performance will vary compared to above recommended configuration.
