We are experiencing some trouble with the 190V, indeed, when used with Siemens Gigaset AS28H (we suspect it's only related with "old" phones), the caller ID is not displaying on the phone, but with other phones (like Gigaset A420), it works. We also tested with different routeurs like Cisco WRP400 and Huawei DG8245W2, and it works.
We solved the issue on the Huawei with parameter "initialRing = 16". it is used in HW CPE devices only. It means the first ring before displaying caller ID and it will ring for 250ms. With WRP400 we think those two lines made it works:
I think your issue is purely related to the fact that old phones require that Initial ring to star procesing FSK tones. They just need FSK receiver to wake up before procesing tones. I'll try to find some more info regarding that on my own but in the meantime I'd also suggest openineg case (by Submit Request on support.cambiumnetworks.com) to speed up the resolution finding process.
I'm also seeing this on a few clients where the name is appearing, but the phone number is not. Customer states it worked with previous provider who was the TELCO, once they switched to us, aka R190 installed, they only get name and not number.
Just out of curiosity, who is using what provider? Just to make sure we aren't assuming it's ATA related when it may be PBX related, etc. We are using BiCom.
Testing on this end it appears that some phones are compatible with the callerID information passing through the cnPilot and others are not. Currently we have 2 customers reporting they get a name but no associated number on callerID, both state it worked with their previous service.
For in house testing we used a Uniden DCT646-2 along with a cnPilot R190V on 4.3.4-R8 firmware. Caller ID worked for all numbers tested.
Copied config from one of the cnPilots reporting occasional callerID, also working with the Uniden phone. Went onsite this morning, checked operation on the customer's cnPilot with their original phone vs the Uniden phone. Uniden phone displayed both caller name and number as it should. Customer was using a V-Tech LS6475-3.
Onsite testing at the second location was not as successful as the Uniden phone stopped accepting calls and now requires replacement. That customer is using an AT&T CL82509 which is showing the same operation as the V-tech, caller name but no number reported. Will update as we have more information.
