color blind issues

Hello,

i'm red/green color blind and the colors you chose for online/offline devices are basically indistinguishable from each other.  very basic primary colors are much easier for color blind people to see.

it looks like for green you are using #58666E which is suitable, but for red you are using #A71E18 which to my eyes looks almost the same as the green.  it'd be much better if you could just use #FF0000 for red.

or better yet, give us access to set the color pallet ourselves.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for bringing this to our notice. We currently have pre-defined color schemes in the current application but we are planning to work on introducing user preferences in our upcoming release. So the existing color schemes remain intact but can be replaced globally when required.

Till then we will try to add the status information as a readable text in the hover-over text for each device in the list. The status can also be viewed in the textual format on the device dashboard.

We appreciate your help in making cnMaestro a better product.

thanks for working on this issue, glad to hear you will have a user configurable option.

also the more i think about it the hover over isn't that great of an addition because it still requires an action by the user to see the status.

a better way to display offline devices would be to change the icon to have a dot to the left (see attached pic).  that way a color blind person still gets the information at a glance without having to perform an action (click or hover) just as a color vision person now gets from the two colors.

Thanks for your thoughts. We agree with you that the on-hover text is not really a scalable solution. Our design team is actively working on a more visual solution. We hope to be able to address this soon.
