Consistantly poor

Hello,

I run 5.7. One of my APs have 21 subs on. Interestingly, when I perform a link test on each LUID, I get the same results.

For instance:

Stats for LUID: 2 Test Duration: 10 Pkt Length: 1522
Downlink RATE: 4356096 bps
Uplink RATE: 1073868 bps
Downlink Efficiency: 100 Percent
Max Downlink Index: 92
Actual Downlink Index: 92
Expected Frag Count: 85080
Actual Frag Count: 91793
Uplink Efficiency: 100 Percent
Max Uplink Index: 97
Actual Uplink Index: 97
Expected Frag Count: 20974
Actual Frag Count: 20974

Stats for LUID: 21 Test Duration: 10 Pkt Length: 1522
Downlink RATE: 4356096 bps
Uplink RATE: 1073715 bps
Downlink Efficiency: 100 Percent
Max Downlink Index: 92
Actual Downlink Index: 92
Expected Frag Count: 85080
Actual Frag Count: 91862
Uplink Efficiency: 100 Percent
Max Uplink Index: 97
Actual Uplink Index: 97
Expected Frag Count: 20971
Actual Frag Count: 20971

This is the same for EVERY SM. Any ideas why every sub has a ADI of 92

interesting…

what version of software are you running… have you tried changing the size of the packets to say 1024, 1518 and see if that makes a diff.

By the way, when we change our packet size to 64 bytes we get uplink efficiency of 33%, on any SM registered to any AP,
anyone else tried/seen this ?

were are on the latest software. 7.2.9. I’ll try changing the size.

VJ, you seem very knowledgeable. Do you operate 5.7? We recently set up a bank with three branches, all within a 3 mile radius. Do you have any recommendations for optimizing connections. I mean, for the most part, we are doing well. Reflector dishes at all locations. -67 or better. However, a third party company from another state who does imaging processing for the bank has asked us on occasion why we are so slow. This baffles me. We are backhauling a relatively unpopulated (and rate limited) T1 to them, with 1Mb up/down as limits. Mostly they FTP files on a nightly schedule.

I appreciate your activity in this forum. I find your suggestions far more useful than the flow chart, call-center support I get from Motorola (although I’ve reached some senior techs who were really good)
