directv dish use?

I did some quick searching, but nothing appeared.

Has anyone tried to fit a claw, or some other holding apparatus to use a 450 with a directv dish and arm?

The main reason I'm curious is because finding support arms for little ds-2000 arms is difficult.

likely not a good idea,  the targeted point on the DISH reflector is to a small, circular pol'd antenna, the cambium antenna sits a fair amount higher on the mount arm, the receiver in the cambium radio is a little larger so it would need to sit slightly closer to the reflector, and then there is the shap of the dish.  if you measure the points and angles in the direct TV dish, you'll see its shape is a little different than the dishes for the 450.   the angle of the antenna relative to the reflector is important as well.   its possible, but a pain to change the size and shape of the receiver inside of a dish.  the arm its self would likely need to be bent down some to get the 450 in the correct spot.

not to say you won't see gain over no dish, built you'll likely end up with a pretty heavy miss match power on your two channels and isn't going to be easy to hit the sweet spot.

KP performance makes dish for them too, they mark the EPMP reflector for cambium, they're simple (i think) to assemble.

would be great if a $15 adapter exsisted though.

Thanks for agreeing with my guesses.  I expected something like that, but no one I asked really had any input aside from "try it, and tell us what you find".

I'm not so sure I like the epmp with a dish, because I think they seem to suffer from a similar malady that a directv dish would cause with a 450.  Maybe it's user error, but I find those things are so hard to aim that I ask someone to be around the office for help.  The force 200s are about as aim-and-go as it gets, so we're planning to try the 450d.

As to the epmp dish from kp: have you had trouble with the SM holder coming loose?

KP made the dishes specifically for the cambium lines, the 450 and EPMP have different components on the dish arm to hold them correctly.     the 450d would likely be the better option in 5ghz as its much easier to "see" and expect where the beam in going, plus its a little smaller and beam is tighter.    no none of of our EPMP radios have come loose from the dish, there is a screw that is supposed to goes in the front to prevent that from coming loose.
