When configuring a ePMP connectorized unit, do we need to have a load on the antenna terminals? Right now we attach and unattach the units from an antenna, but it would be faster if we could just take the units out of the box and config them.
If the radio is going to be on for an extended period of time in AP mode, or any other mode that actively transmits, and has the power turned up, you should have a load on it. We use a small dummy load, which you can purchase here.
Hi,
If we can get an official response from Cambium would be great to further validate this and expand on how long can it be on without an antenna load (a whitepaper, FAQ or something). Additionally, maybe Cambium can introduce a feature to turn OFF the wireless interface on the connectorized series. This way, if you have the capability to have the wireless interface OFF, then one could program and access it without having to have an antenna load attached.
I've seen other products come with a label affixed to the radio (card) warning about using the product without an antenna attached.
Regards.
Ok .. another case of no answer from Cambium!!!
