Dual crossing data feeds? (one out, one back)

We use 4’ dishes with Cambium 670’s shooting 56 miles from the Frying Pan Tower 120’ (in the ocean) to 1400’ up on a tv station tower. At the base of the tv tower on land, we have fiber gigabyte. My question is would it be possible to add another set of dishes 6’ to upload video data from our ocean tower location, and use the 4’ dishes to pull data from land? We would like to increase our streaming capability and are investigating the best solution.

(FYI, the on land gigabyte fiber connection has plenty of bandwidth available)

Appreciate your thoughts…
Richard

Hey Richard, welcome to the Cambium forums.

So here’s a question for you… the PTP670 is capable of up to 450mbps HDX when using a 45MHz channel width. What channel width is currently configured now and what do the radios say is its estimated capacity? ALSO, is the link configured for TDD fixed frame ratio, or adaptive frames? Depending on the requirements and if you don’t need to sync with another system, it might be better to use an adaptive ratio which may help accommodate video stream data.

It may be cheaper and easier to convert the existing PTP670 to use 6’ dishes, which will allow for higher gain and a higher link budget that will hopefully allow for larger channel widths to be used, up to 45MHz @ 450mbps.

Thanks Eric, much appreciated. Good questions. Will be back on site in the ocean this week and will gather the data to share in the PTP location. Richard
