Since we have a stable firmware in 4.6.x we have had the opportunity to notice an issue where the radios appear to be rebooting themselves. Our network is very standardized with ICT UPS systems and Netonix POE switches. At this time the longest uptime I have on an E3000 AP is 179 days. The netonix that is powering this AP is 775 days. All the equipment at this site is generally 700+ days uptime.
I have been tracking this now for over a year and it seems that there is a fairly common window between 90 - 120 days that the E3000 will reboot itself. The longest I have recorded is 224 days.
Is anyone else noticing this? Do we have anyone using a newer firmware with longer then 200 days uptime out there. What is your hardware config?
Thanks for the advice, but I would argue there is no value in the new firmware for our organization unless it specifically addresses this issue. From my reading of the release notes, I am not confident that has happened. If anything, newer firmwares could make this issue worse. That is why I am asking for any operators with newer firmware that has over 200 days uptime. Chasing new firmwares would hide issues like this since the devices are being rebooted every few months.
Cambium support is most likely going to have you update to the newest firmware anyway to see if it resolves the issue. Any bugs found would be planned for a future release.
