E600 Incompatible Software Version With cnMaestro

Hi.

We just got new packet of E600 units and units are not automaticly connecting to cnMaestro cloud - because of too old software on APs.

We find this unacceptable for our zero touch deployment.

Kind regards

We've also had this issue recently as well, again with E600 APs.

Our solution was to first on board the AP to an on-premise version that supported the current firmware version, update the firmware and finally move the devices over to the cloud using this method: http://community.cambiumnetworks.com/t5/cnPilot-E-Series-Enterprise-APs/Migrating-cnPilot-E-Series-Access-Points-from-cnMaestro-Cloud-to/m-p/108449#M128

Thank you for this input, we might do that as well.

This costs us time and money, I am not satisfied at all.

We got some E50x models with firmware 3.1.x and same message (on prem cnmaestro) so manual upgrade on each ap was needed…

Hi ,

Can you please confirm whether in your Cloud account under the Application->Settings the option for "Allow Automatic update of cnPilot E series devices" is enabled or not. If the option is enabled cnMaestro updates the devices to the latest minimum recommended software version. If not enabled you will be getting the error Incompatible software version .

Thanks,

KR.

But this won't upgrade APs that are live on the network already onboarded by its own?

Kind regards

No, It won't upgrade already onboarded or managed devices. It will upgrade only new devices trying to onboard to cnmaestro. If you want to upgrade the devices already managed by cnMaestro then it needs to be done through the regular software update page of cnMaestro.

Thanks,

KR.

That's great news!

Add this into User guide, would be one problem less for you and us :)

Thank you!

Thanks we will get the same updated in the help documents. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you .

Thanks,

KR.

I am just grateful, that we only did manual upgrade on a few APs and not yet on whole package, that is waiting for us to install.

Kudos for Cambium Community and staff!
