Economics trumps technology over time, or said another way, technology is always in the service of economics. NTIA’s recognition that a fiber-first/only approach was economically impractical for a plurality of demographics in bringing broadband, 100:20 Mbps, to unserved addresses is both welcome and a nod to a free market approach.
