Hopefully a simple question but on the 4k APs should I have Hairpin acceleration enabled. It seemed to default to Vlan/Mac Hashing.
My setup is pretty simple I think. AP is in bridge mode with no Vlans. SMs are in Router/NAT mode with each SM pulling a public IP address. AP has client isolatin enabled so each SM cannot communicate to each other directly.
Do I need this enabled and if not is there any downside to keeping at the seeming default of Vlan/Mac Hashing?

Your setup does not need hairpin feature enabled.
It is mostly for PTP links used as backbone between routers.

I never purposefully setup Hairpin on my APs as the setting did not exist until 5.11. When upgrading from 5.10 I then saw it was enabled but never thought much about it.
Would having it enabled and not needed, cause any performance issues?
The documentation says having it enabled can reduce performance.
Performance Considerations
When Hairpin Acceleration is enabled, the device performs additional hashing calculations during packet processing.
As a result, both VLAN Hashing and VLAN and MAC Hashing modes may slightly reduce maximum throughput performance compared to the Disabled mode.
For this reason, Hairpin Acceleration should be enabled only when required by the network topology and traffic patterns.
