ePMP Software Release 2.5.1 is now available

System Release 2.5.1 includes the following:

Defect Fixes

  • Changed the OID numbers for cambiumAPConnectedSTAEntry table back to what they were in releases prior to 2.5.
  • Fixed crash on SM when using 2.5ms frame when SM is under heavy interference.
  • Fixed issue where SMs take longer than normal to register to AP when using 2.5ms frame size.
  • Fixed issue where, when AP is in Standard WiFi mode and using 5.2 GHz, it incorrectly uses 33 dBm EIRP instead of 36 dBm in FCC regions.
  • Fixed issue where 2.4 GHz AP will not use more than 20 dBm TX power when in Standard WiFi mode.
  • Fixed issue where ping utility (under Tools->Ping) will not work if buffer size is larger than 1472 bytes.
  • Fixed occasional SM registration issue with Reason: INVALID SECURITY KEY in PTP TDD and ePTP modes.
  • Fixed RFC1213 OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5.1 (ifSpeed) always returning “10000000" regardless of what the speed is configured/negotiated to.
  • Fixed a rare issue where, in ePTP mode, the radio would stop transmitting data after a few days of normal operation, requiring a reboot.
  • Fixed a security vulnerability on ePMP radios that are exposed to the open internet when using white IP addresses.

Please refer to the Release Notes for a full list of known and resolved defects.

cnMaestro™ support

This release supports management of ePMP radios using cnMaestro™, Cambium Networks' new management platform, although its support of ePMP devices is still considered a beta feature.  APs and SMs can be managed.  Support for ePMP devices in PTP mode is coming soon.  For more information on cnMaestro™, please visit:http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/products/software-tools/cnmaestro/If you are interested in beta testing the management of your ePMP network using cnMaestro, please request access at: http://community.cambiumnetworks.com/t5/ePMP-Beta/Join-the-cnMaestro-Beta-with-your-ePMP-network/m-p/44148#U44148.

  • Fixed a security vulnerability on ePMP radios that are exposed to the open internet when using white IP addresses.

I'm not sure what white IP addresses are, but is this the same vulnerability that UBNT also fixed for http/https logins  a while back?

i think there is Problem with 2.5.1 we have upgrade it this morning and now sometimes the SM´s are connected but no  Traffic over wireless. After Reboot everything is fine.

AP with 40 CPE´s

and again..same Problem

I have un AP 5 GHz Connectorized Radio with Sync with 18 subscribers, 5 GHz Connectorized Radio and 5 GHz Integrated Radio, firmware 2.4.1. After upgrading to 2.5.1 only 10 suscribers connect. Is there any limitation on firmware 2.5.1?

Thanks,

Ionut

Hi,

I can't comment on other vendors but yes, this is related to a vulnerability with http/https logins.

Thanks,

Sriram

Hi Ionut,

Was your Connectorized Radio with Sync bought as part of the Force 110 PTP package? In other words, is it one of these model numbers:

Model Number

Description

C058900B052A

ePMP Force 110 PTP - High Performance PTP Radio (FCC)

C050900B053A

ePMP Force 110 PTP - High Performance PTP Radio (EU)

C050900B051A

ePMP Force 110 PTP - High Performance PTP Radio (ROW)

If so, this is expected behavior. In Release 2.4.2 and later, the number of SMs that can register to this AP for these model numbers is restricted to 10. However, GPS capabiltiies are enabled while it was not in Release 2.4.1.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Sriram

Is the throughput graph back?

Nope.

Hi,

The throughput graph was consuming an inordinate amount of memory on the laptop/device on which the GUI was opened. We're reworking it to make it light weight and plan to bring it back in a near future release.

Thanks,

Sriram

when we can see the MTU pppoe to 1500? when we see the name of the device registered in AP? when we see a tool to identify devices in the PMP network?

Buenas tardes,

Al actualizar las antenas a esta version, no levanta los PPpoe, he de entrar en los equipos y volver a reiniciarlos.

Saludos

ap-mode EPTP Master and slave not view Distance from AP, Instead mode ‘AP TDD Downlink Max do not see the correct rate, once saved always returns to the maximum, but it’ s only a display error, actually 'setting works.
