ePMP Software Release 2.6.2 is now available

ePMP Software Release 2.6.2 is now available at: https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/epmp/

Warning

ePMP radios running System Release 2.1 or earlier cannot be directly upgraded to System Release 2.6.1 or later. Please upgrade to System Release 2.6 first, then upgrade to System Release 2.6.1 or later. Stepping through System Release 2.6 is not required if the ePMP radio is running System Release 2.2 or later.

System Release 2.6.2 is a maintenance release and includes the following:

Enhancements:

  • Support for Hidden SSID on the SM in Standard WiFi mode. SM will probe for SSIDs in its Preferred AP List.
  • TFTP recovery for radios that are rendered inoperable due to flash corruption (typically caused by power interruption during a software upgrade).

Defect Fixes:

  • TX power notification appears on the GUI notifications drop down repeatedly when ACS is enabled.
  • Open SRS vulnerability. Port 53 is not blocked when Separate Management IP is enabled.
  • Enabling WLAN Deny Layer 2 firewall causes the radio to not be accessible in Spectrum Analyzer mode.
  • On a 40 MHz channel, the AP may crash with the signature “_ieee80211_free_node+0xcc/0x334 [tdd_umac]” under heavy traffic.
  • Management interface may respond slowly or stop responding to CLI commands, when “config show” command is issued repeatedly within an interval of few minutes.
  • When radar is detected and the radio enters a 30 minute NOP period, a subsequent radar hit resets the 30 minutes NOP timer, prolonging it beyond 30 minutes.
  • In 5.9 GHz band ePTP mode, Slave does not register to Master in Release 2.6 and later.
  • When SM obtains its VLAN configuration through RADIUS, it is not reachable on its management interface through its WLAN.
  • RADIUS authentication request not sent to alternate RADIUS servers upon failure to reach primary RADIUS server.
  • Force 180s running as ePTP Master and Slave may crash after several hours of continuous, overloaded traffic through the link.
  • cnMaestro™ related fixes:
    • GUI user logged out when ePMP is on-boarded to cnMaestro™
    • Under high traffic load, cnMaestro™ reports SM(s) as offline even though they are registered to the AP and passing user traffic.
    • 4 GHz Force 200 displays as 5 GHz Force 200
    • Incorrect cnMaestro™ Remote Management Status shown on SM’s Dashboard when AP is on-boarded.

I do not know if it is just us, 2 of 3 radios, (so far 2.4 connectorized and 5g F180's) become unresponsive on 2.6.2, like a fresh flash takes 20 minutes before it can be logged into, and when it comes up, our programmed password does not work. 10 minutes later our password works.

Flashing back to 2.6.1 works fine

Hi,

If you referring to recovering an ePMP radio that has a flash corruption caused by a power interuption during a software upgrade, the procedure to recover is here http://community.cambiumnetworks.com/t5/ePMP-Troubleshooting/Recovery-of-flash-corrupted-ePMP-devices-caused-due-to-power/m-p/54712#U54712

Please note that the recovery procedure is possible only if the radio was already running Release 2.6.2.

Thanks,

Sriram

same experience for 2.6.2.

have to reboot the unit and needed to wait approximately 2-5mins before i can login correctly.

Hi Gerry,

2.6.2.1 already has fix for that issue.
