February 17, 2017 - Fast Installations

For Friday Fun this week, we are looking at connecting new customers quickly.  What is the shortest time from when a customer called to get service to the time you had them connected? Let us know a little about what the end cusotmer wanted, and how you connected them so fast.

Our team will pick three responses aswinners, and this time winners will get a Cambium baseball hat. We will send them fast.

Good luck, and happy Friday.

when our installers are caught up and no other work is scheduled, we will send them out to put out road signs, flyer's on door steps etc.      while passing out fliers, twice they've been asked when they can install  by the home owner and connected them right on the spot.    needless to say, time well spent.     both of those customers were connected to competitors, complaining about speed and reliability.     now they're happily our customers.

what kind of a success rate do you see here? about how many new subs a month?

I’d say ballpark 85% success rate on installs. The radio mobile maps are very helpful with forecasting coverage along with the epmp 2.4 handing path obstructions well. It’s very hilly and wooded here.

and about how often do the door signs bring in new folks? I would guess that if you can connect one house, the neighbors on all four sides should be easy shots.

Yard signs are our most effective advertising I believe. And probably the cheapest. Usually we get atleast one call per sign when we leave them behind after completing a good install.

Hi Chris,

That is traditional, personal, and effective.

When we do installations we put a service sticker on the radio, the reflector dish, and on the inside at the end of the network cable. When someone discontinues service because of a move, we try to make it as easy as possible for the new tennent/owner to figure out how to get service through us. If the cable is still in good condition sometimes we give them a discount on installation.

Quickest install is when your competitor uses the same equipment and you can just set radio to defaults, configure with our settings and the customer is up and running in minutes. We then drop of an identical radio at our competitors office so they don't get mad we took their radio. This doesn't happen very often, but it's quick and easy when it does.

Recently we had couple of cases

A Gas Station / Mini market connected to Frontier network in Southern California.

Frontier services were down since the night before and they didnt  had any backup source for the POS side, only for the gas pumps control over satellite network.

Customer called our office around noon, after discussing rates and options the account was created and our crew dispatched to the customer location around 3.45 Pm, and by 5 Pm the Gas Station started to use our services. until today.

Another one was a distribuition and logistics company that contracted services from a competitor, who never installed the services. At the opening day they didnt had any internet services at all, so they called us around 6pm, our crew arrived next day around 7.30 am  and we were able to have the services runing before 9.00 Am.

Most other cases  have 48-72 Hrs  turnaround for installs. unless weather conditions intefere.

Cheers
