Hi Folks,

In my current workflow, I still rely a lot on static channel planning. Why? Because sometimes it’s better to stay steady like a rock than unpredictable like the sea. Auto-RF has its benefits, but I’ve noticed that changing channels during business hours can cause more problems than it solves. It might help a few clients, but the side effects often outweigh the gains. Sure, we can schedule changes for off-hours, but RF conditions, packet error rates, and channel usage are usually much more stable during those times.

So that said, there’s no denying the value of **RF-automation** , especially in enterprise Wi-Fi environments where this feature has been a standard for years. However, to make full use of Auto-RF, I believe it needs a more granular level of control. Right now, the existing implementation of Radio Resource Management/Auto-RF doesn’t fully address the flexibility I need for effective deployment.

**So I vote for per-band customization and scheduling**

**Benefits of per-band auto-rf:**

1. Fewer adjustments across bands minimize client notifications and improve efficiency.
2. Channel changes within a band are smoother, with fewer interruptions.
3. Clients adapt more quickly to single-band changes, reducing application disruptions.
4. Avoiding unnecessary inter-band transitions ensures stability and prevents overcrowding.

**Industry-standard feature necessity:**
leading vendors like Cisco offer flexible RRM (radio resource management) scheduling and per-band management, highlighting the need for similar functionality to improve control and integration.
