I lost the clips that hold the front cover on to a force 110 SM dish. I was wondering how important it is to have that front cover ( or what ever its called) on the dish. Is it just cosmetic or does it server a purpose? Also, if it is necessary, is there a way to buy extra clips? Can I simply secure the cover on with some tape, wire or glue? Thanks all
The metal frame that sits on front of the antenna is a signal "mirror";
It reflects the signal from the antenna into the feedcan, and vice versa.
Without it the gain of the antenna will be about the same of a "Pringles CanTenna"(Think 6db instead of 24)
You could use some UV-resistant cable ties, or galvanized steel wire to hold it in place.
