# Force 400c Dropping from 1G to 100m

Hi all, I have a Force 400c that is dropping from 1000mbps to 100mbps and I cant figure out why, a reboot fixes it, its random and happened a couple times. Am I witnessing an eth port degrading?

Cable fault. Check for dropped packets or errors on the Ethernet interface. It’s likely “Smart Speed” dropping speed because of cable conditions.
