get SN

Is there a way to get a SM’s serial number via telnet/web/whatever?

I’m trying to build a database of inventory and such and want to pull this info from devices in the field… thanks

You can do this with CNUT. It generates xml file…

you can do ESN by SNMP.

can this be done with MSN? thanks for the info!

I don’t know about MSN, but you can open and edit the file with M$ Excell, just rename it to .xml.

the only way i currently use SNMP is with MRTG. Is there a *nix (Debian preferred) command to issue a single snmp query and display results to the cli or dump to a file?
